Department of Mathematics Hosts IWM Visitors ProgrammeThe Department of Mathematics, St. Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally, organized the IndianWomen and Mathematics (IWM) Visitors Programme on 12 January 2026, in collaboration withIndian Women and Mathematics (IWM). The programme was conducted with the objective ofpromoting academic excellence and encouraging women’s participation in the mathematicalsciences.Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) is a national initiative supported by the National Boardfor Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Government of India. It aims to nurture women students andresearchers in mathematics through academic programmes, workshops, conferences, and visitorlectures, thereby fostering a strong and vibrant community of women mathematicians across thecountry.As part of the programme, a special lecture titled “Everywhere Continuous but NowhereDifferentiable Function” was delivered by Dr. Sheetal Dharmatti, Associate Professor, School ofMathematics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and Executive Member of IWM. The lecture offereddeep theoretical insights while remaining clear and engaging, making the topic accessible to bothundergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Dharmatti’s interaction with the participantsproved highly inspiring, particularly for young women aspiring to pursue higher studies andresearch in mathematics.
