St. Dominic’s College Celebrates 60th Merit Day 2025–26

St. Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally, celebrated its Diamond Jubilee 60th Merit Day 2025–26 on 25 June 2025 at the Silver Jubilee Hall, honouring students for their outstanding achievements in academics and sports. The programme was inaugurated by Padma Shri Shiny Wilson, Olympian and the legendary figure in Indian athletics. In her inspiring address, she emphasized that determination, perseverance, and hard work form the true foundations of success, motivating students to pursue excellence with discipline and confidence.

The college honoured 20 university rank holders and 40 sports achievers who excelled at the national, state, and university levels. By securing university ranks across 20 academic departments, the institution reaffirmed its strong academic culture and its commitment to holistic education. The keynote address was delivered by College Manager Rev. Fr. Kurian Thamarassery, who highlighted India’s strengths in technology, commerce, and cultural heritage. The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Seemon Thomas. The Alumni Association supported the event by distributing cash awards to meritorious students, with Mr. Mathew Chacko Vettyankal, President of the Alumni Reunion Committee, extending his heartfelt congratulations.

On behalf of the awardees, Ms. Lisa Mariam George expressed gratitude for the constant support of the management, faculty, and parents. Prof. Rani Jose, PTA Secretary, and Dr. Gipson Varghese, Staff Association Secretary, offered felicitations. The Merit Day celebration stood as a proud reflection of the institution’s enduring commitment to excellence, inspiring students to strive for higher academic and sporting achievements.
